Everyone should be using a note-taking app to record their thoughts, keep track of checklists, and save important things for rapid retrieval. Google Keep can help you organize your life—it's a free note-taking app with a unique look and feel.Google Keep feels a bit like a scrapbook. You can save text notes like recipes and email drafts, or create checklists for your shopping lists and work schedule. You can save images from your computer or mobile device and even create sketches or handwritten notes if you have a touchscreen.Read MoreLike most Google products, Keep relies on a search bar to find what you're looking for. Your content is presented via one of two views. Grid view feels like a scrapbook, and lets you see lots of content at a glance. List view conforms more to the traditional look and feel of a note-taking app, with each note presented one on top of the other. To further aid with finding what you're looking for, Google has implemented labels. Simply type #label anywhere in your note to categorize it. You can then use the left sidebar on both the web and mobile versions to filter by labels if you want. You can also color-code your notes with one of 12 pre-selected hues.Google Keep lets you archive notes, just like you archive messages in Gmail. These archived notes will appear under Archive in the sidebar, or you can search for them. Tap or click on the bell icon next to a note to turn it into a reminder. On a mobile device, you can use geofencing to remind you about a note when you're in a specific location.
