Ts environmental audit checklist
What does this form include?
This form contains 11 sections:
WATER
- Are sandbags / sediment traps in place around drains on site?
- Is there evidence of blockage due to activities?
- Can contaminated / site affected water enter sewer?
- Is the site within a distance which site affected water could enter waterway/body of water OR do the works involve working over a waterway?
- Silt curtains / other barriers in place where required?
- Is there visible sheen / clouding or sediment?
- Is excavated material stockpiled in area but minimises erosion and risks of sediment run-off in the event of rain?
AIR
- Have all subcontractors been provided with NGERS Subcontractor Fuel collection forms?
- Are air emissions / contaminates being controlled?
- Is site noise at a level which does not reasonably interfere with surrounding residents / businesses?
- Is plant emitting excessive smoke / gas?
- Are boundaries free of any noticeable odour or dust caused by the work site?
- Are dust controls available?
FLORA & FAUNA
- Is the works likely to disturb vegetation?
- Is there any evidence of harm or immediate threat to trees or other native vegetation caused by the site works?
- Does the excavation work avoid root systems maintaining the integrity of the tree?
- Are threatened, vulnerable or endangered species likely to be present on or within a close proximity to the site?
- Is a snake kit present on site?
- Is there any evidence of deconstruction of wildlife passages, habitat or other threats to wildlife?
WEEDS & PESTS
- Is the site Fire Ant Restricted Area? (refer to TS Fire Ant Management Plan 0702)
- Is site going to disturb > 1m3 soil? (relevant only in Fire Ant Restricted Areas)
- Is its receiving or removing organic matter from a fire ant restricted area?
- Has everyone received Fire Ant Toolbox talk?
- Are pests present which may affect site works, if so are appropriate controls in place?
- Are any noxious (declared) weeds present in the area?
WASTE
- Is litter visible on site (that is caused by site works)?
- Are waste bins available?
- Is a recycling bin available?
- Is oily or greasy waste present on site?
- Is any other contaminated waste present on site?
- Are segregated waste bins available for special classes of waste (oily, contaminated, green, metal, etc?)
HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS
- Are hazardous substances and hydrocarbons stored in bundled areas / containers?
- Are spill kits available on site?
- Is an MSDS available?
