Pump commissioning checklist
A pump commissioning checklist aims to validate the operation of pumps through correct installation, proper lubrication, and simulation of instrumentation and protection devices.
What does this form include?
This form contains 5 sections:
Pump Commissioning
- Is the completion of equipment installation in all respect as per respective drawings/documents?
- Are bearings and hydraulic coupling lubricated with specified lubricant?
- Are the couplings between in perfect alignment?
- Are coupling bolts and guard installed?
- Is the rotor free in its bearings?
- Is the pump/engine rotating direction correctly? (The orientation of the pump must match the arrow.)
- Are instrumentation and protection devices checked by simulation? Are measuring and monitoring instruments okay?
- Is the Oil Flushing of Oil Circuit over successfully? Is new oil filled in the hydraulic coupling and oil circuit?
- Is the reverse rotation detection switch on hydraulic coupling and protection okay?
- Are holding-down bolts fitted securely?
- Are leakage lines for drain, wind, and gland directed correctly to prevalent drains?
- Are the automatic recirculation valves and back pressure valve correctly fitted in the recirculation line?
- Are oil coolers, oil pipes, and cooling water pipelines installed properly as per Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) and General Arrangement (GA)?
- Are mechanical seals checked?
- Are the Discharge Valves of Pumps kept closed?
- Are Line Vents kept opened?
