PREVIOUS INSPECTION
- Has all defects from previous inspection been resolved
PLAYGROUND ACCESS / AREA
- Is the access to playground free of obstructions
- Are pathways leading to playgrounds free of trip hazards
- Is the area free of rubbish
- Are seats in good condition and free of vandalism
- Do fences appear to be structurally sound and free of vandalisim
- Are gate latches operating correctly
- Is the area free of syringes and other hazardous waste
SURROUNDING VEGETATION
- Is the playground area free of fallen tree debris
- Are surrounding trees free of overhanging deadwood
- Is the area free from the encroachment of weeds
PLAYGROUND STRUCTURES
- Do all structures appear to be in safe working order
- Are all structures free from graffiti
- Are structures of sound construction and have good stability
- Is the structure free from corrosion
- Do foundations appear to be in a safe and sound condition
PLAYGROUND COMPONENTS
- Are all seats / tyres sound and safe from obstruction
- Are all bolts / nuts secure
- Do all all rungs / rails in appear to be in a safe condition
- Are platform boards secure and free from excessive wear and tear
- Does the sandpit have sufficient depth of sand
- Are sandpits free of debris/rubbish
SHARP PROJECTIONS
- Is the area free from any sharp projections that may cause injury
- Are timber structures free of splintering wood
MECHANICAL DEVICES
- Are bearings freely moving
- Is there sufficient lubrication on required parts
CHAINS / ROPE
- Are chains free of excessive wear and pinch factors
- Are split links closed and in good condition
- Are rope structures free of excessive wear
- Are rope connections sturdy and complete
DRAINAGE
- Is the area free from standing water
- Are pits clear of debris and silt build up
SOFT FALL SURFACE
- Is the soft fall surface of suitable depth
- Is the soft fall surface area clen
- Is the soft fall surface free from any hazards
SYNTHETIC GRASS
- Is the synthetic grass surface clean
- Is the synthetic grass surface free from excessive wear and rips
