What does this form include?
This form contains 6 sections:
STANDARDS

- Was a restaurant available seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner?
- Was a bar available seven days a week?
- Was 24 hour room service advertised as being available (hot and cold food must be available at all times)?
- Was a twice daily maid service offered?
- Was a rooming of the guest service offered either by the receptionist or porter?
- Was a same day dry cleaning and laundry service advertised as being available (5 days a week for dry cleaning and 7 days a week for laundry) unless dry cleaning facilities were not available at the destination?
- Was one hour pressing available seven days a week?
- Did staff have a good working knowledge of English as well as the local language?
- Was a doorman service available from 07h00 - 23h00 daily?
- Was a twenty four hour porterage service available?
- Was a concierge/guest services available from 07h00 - 23h00 daily?
- Was the front desk manned twenty four hours a day?
- Was there access to fitness facilities within the hotel with minimum hours of operation being 06h30-20h30 daily?
- Was a broadband internet service available in the bedrooms and lobby area?
BEDROOM
THE ROOM - PRODUCT
- Was the de?cor luxurious/current in appearance and well coordinated throughout the room?
- Did the room provide an abundance of space (minimum of 30 metres squared for city hotels and 40 metres squared (including bathrooms) for resorts) and was the furniture arranged in a way that allowed freedom of movement throughout the room?
- Was flooring of high quality (i.e. high grade wood, marble, stone, granite, elegant area rugs or high density carpet) and in good repair?
- Were the wall surfaces generally well maintained and enhanced with several design elements (i.e. wood baseboards, ceiling trim, soft wall coverings, wood panelling, etc.)?
- Was a variety of artwork/accent pieces present in the room (i.e. limited edition framed prints, canvas art, floral displays/plants, artefacts)?
- Was the mattress comfortable and the bed linen of good quality (i.e. 100% cotton)?
- Was there ample full hanging (i.e. for dresses) and drawer/shelf space available for a minimum of two guests?
- Were all areas of the room extremely well lit (i.e. both side of the bed, at desk and sitting area) with custom high quality light fixtures?
- Was all furniture well maintained and of a high quality (i.e. solid wood)?
- Were all fabrics (curtains, upholstery, bedspread) fresh in appearance and of good quality?
- Was a flat screen plasma/LCD television present and was the screen a minimum of 32 inches?
- Was all technology/lighting in good working order and easy to use?
- Did room provide an occasional table and seating?
- Was the room adequately soundproofed?
- Were rooms air-conditioned with an adjustable climate control panel and if so was it quiet and in good working order?
- Was the desk/workspace of a good size and conducive to business needs (i.e. multiple, easily accessible unused electrical outlets)?
- Was high-speed internet access available and if so was the connectivity easy and user friendly (i.e. either via Wi-Fi or cable)?
BATHROOM

- Were two chairs available (in the case of double occupancy) that were of the appropriate height for a room service trolley?
- Did curtains offer a complete blackout when closed?
- Was individually controlled lighting available from the bed?
- Was the door lock in good condition with a deadbolt or safety chain?
- Was a viewing hole present in the door and an emergency exit diagram prominently displayed?
- Was an upscale comprehensive guest services directory provided, and was it up to date, grammatically correct and in good condition?
- Was a range of good quality stationery provided (minimum of envelopes, hotel paper and postcards)?
- Did wardrobes have internal lighting?
- Were matching good quality hangers provided (i.e. wooden and not anti- theft) and did they consist of suit, padded and clip hangers?
- Was a tie rack/hanger, shoehorn and umbrella available (city hotels only)?
- Were laundry bags and lists provided?
- Was a luggage rack and/or bench provided in the room?
- Was a full-length mirror present within the room?
- Were there spare electrical points near a mirror?
- Was there an in-room bar?
- Was an in-room safe provided and was it in good working order/ available for immediate use (i.e. not locked without a key)?
- Were there three telephones in the room (i.e. at the desk, beside the bed and in the bathroom)?
- Were all room telephones in good working order with speed dial, voicemail and message waiting facilities?
- Was an alarm clock available in the room (can be via the television)?
- Was television/remote control in good condition/working order and did it offer multilingual channels and a printed channel guide?
- Was there a movie on demand channel option or was a DVD/CD player provided and if so was it in good working order?
- Was a selection of reading material provided (i.e. current lifestyle magazines and/or books)?
- Was a fresh floral/plant decoration present in the room or bathroom?
