What does this form include?
This form contains 10 sections:
Area
Plant and equipment
- Clean and free of unnecessary material, tools and objects.
- Free of unnecessary dripping oil or grease and sawdust
- Proper guards provided, in place and in good condition
Stock and Material
- Properly stacked and arranged
- Must be loaded safely and orderly and positioned from pedestrian walkways
- Bearers not in use are stored properly
Tools
- Must be properly stored
- Must be free of oil, grease & sawdust when stored
- Must be in safe working condition
Stairs and Walkways
- Must be provided to work stations, fire extinguishers and first aid kits
- Must be safe and free of obstructions, no bearers or straps
- Must be clearly marked
- Stairs must be free from broken or worn treads, non skid strips fitted, hand rails fitted and in good condition
Chemical storage areas
- Must be clean with no leaks or spills
- Must be correctly stored when not in use. Eg. Flammable cabinet, gas storage
- Storage containers are clearly labeled and unambiguous
- Chemicals are not stored in food or beverage containers
Floors
- Must have surfaces safe and suitable for work
- Must be clean, dry and free of rubbish, unnecessary material, oil and grease
- Must have adequate number of bins that are regularly maintained
- Must have water and air hoses properly stored when not in use
- Must have all tools properly stored when not in use
Buildings
- Walks and windows are clean and free of unnecessary signs and graffiti
- Must have stairs that are free of materials, well lighted and in good condition
- Gutters are free of sawdust and vegetable matter
Lighting
- Walking and working areas are adequately illuminated
- Lighting fixtures are working and clean
Grounds and Roadways
- Must be in good order, free of refuse and unnecessary material
- Weeds and gardens are in good order and fire load is managed
- Site access points are well maintained and lockable
- Car parks are sign posted and free if litter
