Work environment
- Inspect work areas and bays for general housekeeping/oil spills
- Inspect walkways are clear, free of obstructions/oil spills
- Emergency, warning, safety & hazard signage in place & visible
- Barricading in place for high risk work areas
- Lighting is in good condition & sufficient for work performed
- Hand washing facilities stocked, cleaned and functional
- All parts neatly arranged at drop point, no outstanding returns
- Non concreted areas are smooth & safe for vehicle & pedestrian access
- Toolbox storage area is clean & tidy
PPE
- PPE signage in place for required areas
- Sufficient hearing protection/dust masks in tool store available
- PPE store stock levels checked, are appropriate for current site work
Emergency Equipment
- First aid kit accessible & tagged
- Safety shower accessible & working
- Eye wash station(s) accessible & working
- Spill kits sufficient, accessible & stocked
- Fire fighting equipment sufficient, accessible & inspection in date
Chemical/Hazardous materials
- All chemicals stored correctly and present in chemical register
- Chemicals labelled to standard (no chemicals stored in unmarked containers)
- MSDS information accessible & up to date
Waste Storage
- Sufficient waste bins supplied and in use
- Waste bins labelled
- Waste is segregated appropriately
Equipment Safety
- Check air compressors for leaks and drainage
- Check drains/sump are below 50% full
- Check required vehicle pre-starts are complete
- Check overhead crane prestarts are up to date/faults reported
- Ensure overhead craned stored safely
- Inspect lifting equipment in use is in good condition & has current inspection tag
- Jacks, stands, ladders, trolleys, protection mats and steps in storage areas have current inspections and are in good, clean, safe condition
- Check 240v / 415v electrical tooling for test & tag compliance
- Check all other required equipment pre-starts are complete
