What does this form include?
This form contains 6 sections:
Previous Audits
- Has a previous audit been conducted
- Have you reviewed the previous audit findings?
- Have the hazards identified been addressed?
Fire Safety and Emergency Responses
- General safety rules are visible.
- Evacuation information is clearly displayed near doors.
- Fire extinguishers are located in the room and are serviced.
- Fire blanket is located in the room.
- Doorways and evacuation routes are clear.
- Emergency shut down for gas supply is operational.
- A first aid kit is accessible and stocked.
Management Procedures
- Safe operating procedures for hazardous equipment are displayed or available.
- Personal protective equipment is available or require (hairnets & aprons etc.)
Room
- Room is clean and free of waste material on benches or floor.
- Benches are clean and sanitised
- There is sufficient room for people to work safely. Potable benches etc. are not placed in positions which restrict access.
- Benches and equipment do not have any sharp edges.
- Doors windows and locks are serviceable and in good condition.
- Ventilation system is operational and clean.
- Lighting is adequate and functional.
- Light and power switches are serviceable and safe.
Furniture and Fixtures
- All furniture in catering room is serviceable and in good condition.
- All tables and furniture in dining room is serviceable and in good condition.
- Hanging displays and notice boards etc. are secure and safe.
Storage
- Hazardous substances are stored securely
- MSDS sheets are available for any chemical which is stored or used in the catering room.
- All hazardous materials are clearly labelled.
- Food is stored in secure air tit containers.
- Excess food is stored in refrigerators in appropriate containers.
- Refrigerators are clean, sanitised and able to operate at appropriate temperatures.
- Cooking and other electrical equipment have designated storage areas and are utilised at all times.
- Equipment which has sharp edges is stored appropriately.
