1.0 Walkways and platform
- 1.1 Are walkway surfaces even, free from trip hazards and potholes?
- 1.2 Is there a "stay behind yellow line" on platform?
- 1.2.1 Are the lines clear and in good condition?
- 1.3 Are walkway surfaces slip resistant?
- 1.4 Are walkway surfaces stable, with no lip between the platform edge and rest of the platform?
- 1.5 Are walkways free of projections (>10mm)?
- 1.6 Are walkways free of unexpected changes in nature of platform surface?
- 1.7 Are all walkways well illuminated?
- 1.8 Is the platform edge painted white?
- 1.9 Train stop markings are clearly visible on the platform?
2.0 Signage
- 2.1 Are "stay off the track" / trespass signs in place?
- 2.2 Are "keep out" signs in place (where appropriate)?
- 2.3 Are signs appropriately positioned and in good condition?
- 2.4 Are train timetables displayed?
- 2.4.1 Are they current?
- 2.4.2 Are they legible?
- 2.5 Are warning signs alerting public the dangers of overhead power cables and the crossing of railway lines in place?
- 2.6 Are emergency contact numbers clearly displayed?
- 2.7 No skateboarding / cycling signs displayed?
3.0 Lighting
- 3.1 is the lighting on the platform considered adequate?
- 3.2 Are the lights in operational and in good condition?
4.0 Ramps / stairs
- 4.1 Are ramps in good condition?
- 4.2 Are the ramp surfaces smooth and free from trip hazards?
- 4.3 Are steps in good condition (free of rot, corrosion and physical damage)?
- 4.4 Are hand rails in place and securely fixed?
- 4.5 Are the surfaces of the steps and ramps slip resistant?
- 4.6 Is the platform accessible by prams and wheelchairs?
- 4.7 Are stairs well illuminated?
5.0 Subways (if applicable)
- 5.1 Is the lighting in the subways adequate?
- 5.2 Are subways free from tagging?
6.0 Building structures
- 6.1 Are access doors to secure / restricted areas in good condition?
- 6.2 Are all restricted areas fully secure?
- 6.3 Is the building cladding in good condition?
- 6.4 Are gutters and storm-water drains in good condition?
- 6.5 Are windows in good condition?
- 6.6 Is the building free of tagging?
- 6.7 Are facilities available to provide protection from adverse weather?
- 6.8 Are all storm water drains clear of debris?
7.0 Sanitation facilities
- 7.1 Are toilets in good condition?
- 7.2 Are washbasins in good condition?
- 7.2.1 Do the washbasins have running water
- 7.3 Are the doors and door-locks to the toilets in good condition?
8.0 Drainage
- 8.1 Surfaces are free of excessive water pooling?
- 8.2 Drains are free from obstructions?
9.0 Fencing
- 9.1 Areas close to the track are securely fenced?
- 9.2 Gate access to rail tracks are fully secure?
10.0 Step down at station
- 10.1 Carriage platform gap is small?
- 10.2 If carriage platform gap is large, warning signs are present?
- 10.3 Trains can fit the platform?
