Controls in place

Check entire floor area for any hazards including spillages and equipment.

Has the area got adequate lighting to compete tasks or are there blown bulbs?

Are guards in place and operational? Is the lock out procedure been used during maintenance.

Ensure that ladder/ stairs used to access plant rooms/ Roof are secure and there are no signs of damage.

Check exits from the area are free from obstructions.

Is the door locked restricting access to service personal only. Under no circumstances are team to work on switchboard.

Check any contractors on site to ensure they have signed in and are wearing a visitor sticker and have filled in the maintenance Authority book and permit to work book as needed.

Check contractors are trained and know what to do in the event of a gas leak.

Check for any sign of damage to generator.

Check that plant room is tidy and not used for storage.

Check to ensure all department PPE is available and in good condition.

Check to ensure all listed signage is in place.
